About us

We at Kompany believe that technology is for everyone; it's just that not all technology is made for everyone!
Most technology is not tailored to older people and their different needs. Touchscreens can be difficult to use, passwords and usernames can be difficult to remember and confusing, and menus and user interfaces can be overwhelming.
Did you know that?
- Many seniors struggle with touchscreens due to a condition called leathery fingers
- Many seniors experience reduced mobility and lower income, making it more challenging to meet friends in person
- Mastering new technology is often complicated for seniors, as they have no previous experience to use as a baseline. Seniors generally have a smaller frame of reference for absorbing new knowledge.
- Numbers from SSB.no shows that 68% of older people between the ages of 67–79 use the internet daily, while 52% of older people 80+ do not have access to or use the internet at all (2023).
- 74% of seniors between 67-79 years old make private calls per day (2022).
That's why we created Komp, a simple screen that focuses on the social aspect of digital communication, allowing family members to send photos, messages and make video calls to Komp. It was developed with the target audience back in 2017, and we continue to adjust and develop Komp with our customers and target audience.
