Privacy Policy

Kompany AS is the main controller and point of contact. This privacy policy tells you:

  • what information we collect about you
  • how we use that information
  • your rights and choices regarding the information we collect about you

Do you want to read about Komp and privacy as well as Komp app and privacy, see here .

1. When you purchase Komp on our website:

When you buy a Komp in our online store, we need to register personal data such as your name, phone number, address and email address. We will also ask you to provide payment details, depending on the payment method you choose. Your payment details will be handled by our partners and will not be stored in our systems.

Retention of information:

We will keep your customer profile as long as you are an active customer with us, in line with the Consumer Purchase Act and accounting legislation.

Rights to erasure of data:

You can delete your customer profile yourself or request that your data be deleted before six years have passed. We will then delete all personal data, except for order information and receipts that we are required by law to retain in accordance with the storage requirements of applicable accounting legislation.

2. When you have ordered delivery

When you have Komp delivered by us, we need to register your personal data in order to provide the service you have ordered. We must therefore create a customer profile for you, as described in section 1 above, including your name, email address and delivery address, as well as information about the delivery conditions at your address.

Kompany has partnered with third parties who perform the delivery. In order for them to perform the service, we share the necessary personal data with them.

When we handle returns, complaints, service and repairs:

If you complain about or return a product, or ask us to carry out a repair, we need to register your contact information in order to handle your request.

When we use your personal data to provide service and support, the purchase agreement is our basis for processing. This also applies if you return the item using open purchase.

If we process your personal data to handle a complaint, our legal obligation is our legal basis for processing.

We store your personal data for as long as you have an active agreement with us. After this, we retain your data as described in sections 1 and 2.

Komp subscription

In order to charge your card with the monthly amount for the Komp Family subscription, we need to store your card details. Your card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored in Kompany's systems

When you contact our help center:

You can contact our help center through several channels. If you already have a customer profile with us, we will use the information associated with your profile to help you as efficiently as possible. If we need to handle an inquiry from you that requires further follow-up, such as a service or complaint, we will create a customer profile for you if you do not already have one. We will link your inquiries to your customer profile so that we can follow up if necessary.

When you call in to us:

When you contact us by phone, we will note important information about the case for further follow-up in our system. We will also store information that you have called us in the log that is linked to your customer profile.

When you send emails to us:

When you send us an email, we will store your email in connection with your customer profile. We keep the emails to be able to follow up with you better over time, whether you need service, have complained about a product, or if the correspondence is part of a dispute you have with us.

Basis for processing, storage and erasure:

We believe we have a legitimate interest in recording information about your correspondence with us so that we can follow up on your customer relationship. Furthermore, we will sometimes have a legal obligation to register and store information about your customer relationship, for example if you complain about a product.

Emails are stored for one year to ensure that we can follow up on complaints and claims over time.

Marketing and profiling:

We work with digital advertising networks such as Meta and Google to provide you with relevant ads based on your previous use of our services. We use profiling and segmentation to effectively target our marketing campaigns. Profiling means that we show ads based on your previous interests and behavior, while segmentation means that advertising is targeted to specific user groups based on common characteristics such as age, gender and place of residence. We also analyze the impact of our advertising to continuously improve our strategies.

Marketing with third-party data:

We collect information about your interests both from our own website and through external platforms. This data is used to create personalized ads that appear on other websites. This process includes customer matching, where we share encrypted customer data, such as email addresses and phone numbers, with platforms such as Google and Meta to match them with their user data. After matching, the information is deleted.

Cookie management and consent:

We use cookies to collect data that helps us understand how you use our website and to support our marketing initiatives. You can manage your cookie settings and withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the small black icon at the bottom of the page or by visiting our Cookie Policy page. There you will also find detailed information about which cookies we use.

Analysis of advertising effectiveness:

We perform continuous analytics to measure how effective our ads are. This helps us optimize our marketing strategy and ensure that you receive relevant and interesting offers.

We currently share data for analytics purposes with the following third parties:

  • Google

Users' rights:

Users have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of their personal data by contacting our customer center.

If you request deletion, we will delete all information we have about you, except for what we are required by law to store. Order documents will be stored in accordance with the Bookkeeping Act. If you present the original receipt, we will be able to search for your orders in our systems even if we have deleted all other personal data.

How do we protect your information?

We take appropriate security measures to maintain the necessary security of your personal data and ensure its confidentiality, integrity and availability, and to protect it from unauthorized or unlawful processing, as well as to mitigate the risk of loss, accidental alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. Technical and organizational security measures may include encryption and pseudonymization of data, logging, access restrictions, keeping backups, providing instructions to our employees, entering into confidentiality agreements and monitoring. We protect your data sent through our website and mobile and desktop apps during transmission by appropriate encryption.

That said, security risks can never be completely eliminated and residual risks are unavoidable.
