    Komp is a one-button screen designed to help older people stay part of their family’s everyday life – without needing to deal with technology.

    The family sends pictures and messages through the Komp app. They will automatically appear on the screen, and video calls will start automatically after a short countdown. Whoever has Komp never need to do anything.

    Everything is managed by the family through a simple app. From there, you can:

    • Send photos and messages
    • Start video calls
    • Like and comment photos
    • Schedule messages for specific times
    • Turn Komp on and off remotely
    • Show a clear 24-hour clock
    Does mom or dad need to do anything themselves?

    No, nothing. Everything is controlled by the family via the app. Photos and messages appear automatically on the screen, and video calls start by themselves after a short countdown. If the person with Komp does not want to join the call, he or she can turn the button to decline it.

    Don’t FaceTime or Messenger serve the same purpose?

    For those who are comfortable with a smartphone or tablet, FaceTime and Messenger work very well. But for those who find modern technology difficult – whether because of physical challenges such as dry fingertips, cognitive abilities, or simply because it never became natural – it can become a barrier that prevents contact with the family. Komp is made precisely for them.

    Can you call out from Komp?

    No – Komp is deliberately designed so that the person who has it never needs to do anything. All calls are initiated from the app by the family.

    Is it two-way communication?

    Yes. During video calls, you can see and hear each other.

    Do you need WiFi?

    No. Komp has built-in 4G (unlimited) and also works without Wi-Fi.

    Why does the subscription cost money?

    4G provides much better stability than Wi-Fi and ensures that Komp always works – even if the internet at home is down. The subscription covers unlimited 4G, extended customer support and access to features such as weather forecast and sleep mode.

    Is there a binding period for the subscription?

    No, you can cancel the subscription at any time. Please note that an active subscription is required to send photos, make video calls and use the app’s features.

    How does 90-day open purchase work?

    We know it is not always easy to know in advance whether Komp is the right fit. If it does not work out, send an email to support@komp.family within 90 days – we will arrange the return shipping free of charge and you will get your money back.

    Does Komp work for someone with dementia?

    Yes. Since the person with Komp never needs to do anything, it works well regardless of cognitive ability. Many families experience Komp as a valuable tool for staying in touch with someone who has dementia.

    Can Komp be used in nursing homes?

    Yes, many of our users live in nursing homes.

    Can everyone in my family see the photos I send?

    You choose in the app whether you want to share photos with the whole family or only with the person who has Komp.

    Can Komp be used abroad?

    Yes, as long as Wi-Fi is available. 4G works within the EU. Outside the EU, the buyer is responsible for any shipping costs.

    Komp Comes with built-in 4G and therefore works without WiFi. It is ready to use as soon as it is connected to power, and the family controls everything via the app.
